Project - Church View
Caring Interiors was appointed to carry out a full refurbishment of a 78-bedroom care home comprising six individual wings of 13 bedrooms. The project presented a unique logistical challenge: completing extensive internal upgrades while ensuring the care home remained fully operational and safe for residents and staff throughout the works.
Location: United Kingdom
Duration: 7 months.
Scope: Full Interior Refurbishment of 78 Bedrooms, Communal Areas, Clinical Facilities

Objective:
To maintain continuity of care and minimise disruption, the refurbishment was carried out one wing at a time, allowing residents to be safely relocated within the home as works progressed. This phased approach required careful planning, coordination, and clear communication with the care provider.
Challenges Overcome
Live Environment: Carrying out major works in a live care setting demanded rigorous safeguarding measures, dust/noise control protocols, and frequent liaison with the care staff to ensure resident wellbeing.
Wing-by-Wing Programme: The logistical complexity of sequentially refurbishing each wing required agile scheduling and the ability to adapt to the home's daily operations without delay to the programme.
Key Works Completed
New Clinical Rooms: Purpose-built clinical rooms were constructed, each equipped with kitchenettes and air conditioning, designed to support modern care delivery and infection control.
Dining Room Upgrades: New kitchens were installed in dining areas across the home, enhancing food preparation and serving capabilities for staff.
New Nurse Stations: Each wing received newly built, ergonomically designed nurse stations to support clinical oversight and staff workflow.
Full Redecoration: All bedrooms and communal areas were redecorated with calming, homely interiors tailored to the needs of elderly residents, including those living with dementia.
Lighting and Flooring: The care home was fitted with energy-efficient lighting and durable, slip-resistant flooring throughout, ensuring both aesthetics and safety.
Outcome
The refurbishment has transformed the care home into a modern, resident-friendly environment with greatly improved clinical functionality, comfort, and visual appeal. The project was delivered on time and within budget, and feedback from staff, residents, and families has been overwhelmingly positive.
